I offer three types of session which should cover most client needs.
A Full Length Session is usually at least an hour (or several hours for newborns) but if you’re looking for just a few photos, a Mini Session may be more appropriate. These sessions will usually be outdoors (except for newborns!) or use natural light indoors or small flashes.
I do not use proper full studio lighting on either full or mini sessions due to the space needed to set up the studio, so a few times a year I also offer Studio Days where I set up my studio in a hired location and have several slots available for booking. Details on the Studio Days can be found on the appropriate Studio Day page when they are available as they will vary.
Below you should be able to find all the information you need on pricing for sessions and products, but if you feel your question is not answered, please do contact me with your enquiry.
Full Length Session Fees
Session fees are payable in advance to secure your booking slot. I can accept a 25% deposit in advance to secure the session, but the balance must be paid before the session can take place.
Please note: The session fees may appear high, however at least half of the session fee is returned in the form of a print credit when you order, and there is no minimum order either.
For Outdoor/Lifestyle Sessions at your choice of location, outdoors or at home (1 hour) the session fee is £200
For Newborn Sessions in your home or a friend/relative’s home (3-4 hours) the session fee is £300
I also offer mini sessions which are shorter and at a reduced cost – see below.
All FULL sessions include:
Due to the highly detailed work involved in post-processing the images, the password-protected online gallery will take between 1-3 weeks before they are available, although you will be informed of the likely wait time when booking and given a confirmed date at the session.
If you require more than four subjects (one with a newborn, although family members photographed with the newborn are included at no extra cost) there is an additional cost of £25 per subject, and a guarantee of at least an extra two images per subject to choose from.
Mini Session Fees
If you only want a few photos, I also offer mini sessions.
These are priced at £100, last 30 minutes and only apply to on location or studio days, not in-home newborn sessions.
The mini session fee is fully payable in advance to secure your booking slot.

If my travel time one way is likely to be over 30 minutes for a mini session, a small surcharge of £15 is payable. I will not travel over 45 minutes away for a mini session unless you can find a second person to book a session on the same day too – the surcharge would also be waived in this case.
Mini sessions are usually available to view in a shorter time than a full session but you will be advised on the likely timeframe when booking.
Ordering your images
Unlike with a traditional viewing where you are made to decide on the spot which images you would like, the gallery will be available for seven days to give you plenty of time to choose in the comfort of your home (or indeed anywhere with an Internet connection!) without pressure. Alternatively I can do in-person ordering for more local customers if you would prefer this (again, no pressure tactics – I promise!) and this could optionally be combined with the online gallery.
Orders can take the form of prints, digital images or books. Packages are available offering large discounts. Where “all images” is referred to, this means all the images available in the gallery.

About the Pricing
My prices are completely transparent. There are no hidden cheap deals to draw you in, and then a nasty surprise if you want more than your “free 10×8″ as is usually the case. There are no extras beyond those you see listed here. I believe in being open about the final price you will probably end up paying from the start – playing games with prices and pressure-filled sales tactics are not something I do for two reasons. One is because I personally disagree with them, and the other is that I prefer to focus on the photography and providing an excellent customer service. I treat my customers how I would want to be treated as a customer. I want you to feel happy about your images and purchases and the service so you recommend me to your friends, not feeling tricked, pressured and resentful!
I require a session fee because I will be investing at least 20-25 hours, often more of my time and resources with every full session and this fee covers some of my costs for the session and subsequent post-processing. However, at least half of the session fee will be returned to you in the form of a print credit when you order and unlike many photographers, there is usually no minimum order. Whatever happens, if you are not completely satisfied with my work, I will work very hard to find a happy solution for everyone involved, including a reshoot if necessary.
About Bookings
THERE IS NO AVAILABILITY AT PRESENT BEFORE END OF OCTOBER but I can take bookings NOW for early November onwards.
To ensure the highest quality for all my customers, I rarely book more than one client a week and spend that week working on their images on a full time basis. Therefore I am often booked up many weeks in advance so it is advisable to book early to have the best choice of slot. Newborns I can sometimes squeeze in at the last minute if there is space (for a variety of reasons, newborns are best to photograph at under ten days of age) but it is better to book a floating slot around your due date instead.

Other Information
Silver Ash Photography accepts all major credit cards and Paypal. All session fees are payable at least 48 hours in advance to secure your booking – first to pay secures the slot; this is the fairest way to do it.
I offer a referral bonus scheme for customers who recommend me to their friends who subsequently pay for and go ahead with a session.

Custom Photography is a creative service and I am an artist. Although I am fairly flexible and always open to your ideas, please be certain you are generally happy with my style of photography before making a booking to avoid potential problems later on.
